What Constitutes Acceptable Performance Rating

 

Examples:

  • Specific score on in-training exam
  • Completing steps in proper sequence
  • Specified Likert scale rating
  • Listing specific possibilities in a differential diagnosis

Rotation objectives:

 

  • Medical Knowledge (topics to be covered – must cover and assess)
    • Understand guideline based evaluation and management of common inpatient general medicine conditions.
    • Understand long term management of patients, with regards to preventative care, risk factor modification, adverse medication effects, and follow-up.

 

  • Patient Care Skills (including technical skills to be learned and demonstrated – must cover and assess)
    • Demonstrate advanced skills in medical interview and physical exam, with a focus on elements specific to general medical diseases.
    • Develop an integrated, efficient, and focused plan for evaluation and management of a patient with complex disease that affects multiple organ systems.

 

  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills
    • Provide constructive feedback to the interns and medical students on the team.

  • Provide mentorship and serve as a role-model for interns and medical students on the team.
