Shout Outs
Margarite Matossian -
from the program – For Honorable Mention during 2023 Janet Rowley Research Day!
The whole CCU crew -
from Layne – “Ahmad and Stephan, our white cloud night float – Fawsia (sorry we ate all your snacks), the most helpful DF – Nirmal, and the best interns – Anjani, Zee, and Z. Thanks making me laugh and for making the q3 call tolerable, and even fun at times!”
Nia Feaster -
from Mary Nolan-Pleckham (RRT nurse) for having a frank, professional, and effective conversation with the family to help sort out if a patient needed a new code status or MICU transfer. This is a hard conversation at any time, but she was newly seeing the patient during the RRT and handled this with compassion, firmness, and helped to ensure our care aligned with the family’s wishes.
Matt Walser -
from Anna Czapar (ID fellow) for volunteering to help out on immunocompromised IF rotation! He was very enthusiastic and helped make a busy service more manageable
Olivia Lanser -
from Nikita Deshpande for keeping the spirits up, teaching vital senioring/wellness tips, and educating the workroom re: multiple fun facts you didn’t know about lentils (did you know most lentils come from Canada??)
Justin Sipiora -
from Andy Davis – “blew me away today with his calm manner amidst 10 hrs of hammer pages and excellent care. Busy complex service on Gens A, no interns today, 6 discharges (!!), multiple prolonged family discussions and 1 bounce back admit the day after short call (after a family was convinced after 1 night at home that we were right all along about advising SAR placement. Not a hint of complaint.”
Kari Tyler and Nikita Mokhashi -
from Margarite – “for going above and beyond for patient care, and crushing it as baby seniors this week. They admitted patients on their own and made it look easy. And for Kari for helping a patient order a new credit card, even though we have no idea where it was sent to.”
