Use of Cultural Fund Account

Purpose:

To establish guidelines regarding the use of the Ticket Fund made available to the Internal Medicine House Staff.

Policy:

Each year the Internal Medicine Residency Program is allotted funds for the Internal Medicine House Staff to purchase tickets for Chicago area cultural activities.

Guidelines:
  1. Each house officer is assigned 1 set of tickets, for a total option of two tickets per year.  Reimbursement for these tickets should not exceed $80.00 per set of tickets.
  2. The Department will only reimburse for tickets to live cultural or sporting events (concerts, plays, sporting events, etc.). Cultural events that do not qualify will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  3. This does not include gift certificates, cover charges, music CD’s, DVD/VHS movies, lessons or memberships of any type.
  4. Reimbursement will not be given to tickets purchased beyond face value.  This includes tickets bought through a scalper or ticket broker.
  5. Reimbursement requests must be submitted by June 15th to count for the current academic year.  In addition, the actual performance must take place within the corresponding academic year.  All reimbursements require the original ticket stubs(s) as well as proof of purchase.
